Key concepts & glossary
A quick tour of the words you'll see throughout JobKred. Skim it once and the rest of the documentation will read easily.
How your organization is structured
JobKred is multi-tenant: everything you do lives inside your own organization, walled off from every other customer.
- Company — your organization, and the boundary around all your data, frameworks, files, and colleagues. Everything you create belongs to your company.
- Team — a group of people within your company. Teams are how access to shared resources is organized.
- User — you. Each user has a role that governs what they can do (see below).
- Project — a folder that groups related chats together. Chats that aren't assigned to a project are grouped under Personal.
Roles
| Role | Can do |
|---|---|
| User | Use chat, files, and workflows; share their own resources. |
| Admin | Everything a user can, plus manage company users and teams. |
Sessions
When an administrator removes a user, that person is signed out immediately across all their devices.
The three pillars
- Chat — a conversation with Ellie. One chat = one ongoing conversation. See Chat.
- Workflow — a visual graph of steps you build once and run repeatedly, manually or on a schedule. See Workflows.
- File — a document you upload (or import from Google Drive) for JobKred to read and use as context. See Files.
Chat vocabulary
- Ellie — the name of your AI assistant.
- Message — a single turn in a chat, from you or from Ellie.
- Starter suggestion — a clickable prompt on the Chats page that pre-fills the chat box to help you begin.
- Suggested follow-up — a clickable prompt Ellie offers after a reply to take the next step.
- Context — the frameworks, files, and web links you attach to a question so Ellie grounds its answer in your data.
- Exportable card — a generated table or document in Ellie's reply that you can preview, save, or download.
Workflow vocabulary
- Node — one step in a workflow. Most nodes are a specialized agent (the same agents you can talk to in chat — see the Agent Catalog).
- Start node — the entry point every workflow begins with.
- Edge — a connection between two nodes. It defines the order and passes one node's output into the next.
- Trigger — how a workflow runs: manual (you press Run) or scheduled (it runs automatically).
- Knowledge — the files, captures, and frameworks attached to a workflow or a specific node to ground its work.
- Guided Inputs — a conversational helper that asks you questions to fill in a node's inputs for you.
- Artifact — a report or output a node generates. A single run can produce many artifacts.
- Template — a pre-built workflow you can copy and run as a starting point.
Knowledge & frameworks
- Framework — your competency taxonomy: your Skills, Job Profiles, and Job Functions and how they relate. You can build one with JobKred or import your own.
- Capture / Web Link — a saved web page or note attached as context, alongside files.
- Connector — a connection to an external system. JobKred connects to Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, Box, S3 and SFTP for importing files, and to JobKred Lithium (an enrichment data source you can toggle into a chat). See File connectors.
Sharing and cost
- Share / Shared with me — you can share an individual chat, workflow, or file with named colleagues in your company. Resources others share with you appear under Shared with me.
- "Whoever runs, pays" — sharing a resource does not transfer its cost. Usage is attributed to the person who runs it. If a colleague shares a workflow and you run it, the run counts against your usage.
