Add Knowledge

Knowledge is the data your workflow draws on when it runs. Just like attaching context in a chat, adding Knowledge to a workflow makes its outputs grounded in your reality instead of generic assumptions.

What counts as Knowledge​

Open the Knowledge tab to attach data to the workflow. There are two kinds:

  • Files — documents you've uploaded or imported from a connected source (role descriptions, skills spreadsheets, training material, and so on). See Files.
  • Web Links — web pages or notes you've captured, so a workflow can draw on an online source such as a public competency model or a job posting.
Attach a whole folder

Instead of picking files one by one, attach a folder — everything inside it, including its subfolders, becomes part of the workflow's Knowledge. It stays live, so a file you add to that folder later is picked up automatically on the next run. Handy for a folder you keep topping up, like This quarter's role descriptions.

Choose what each step uses​

Knowledge is attached once, at the workflow level. Each node then chooses how much of it to read — all of it, a specific few items, or none at all. You set that per node in the Inspector → Inputs tab.

That keeps each step focused. Attach your whole document set to the workflow, then point the diagnostic node at just the headcount spreadsheet and the training node at just the curriculum material.

Two per-node options are worth knowing:

  • Framework — the structured model of your organization's Skills, Job Profiles, and Job Functions is chosen per node, not for the whole workflow, so different steps can measure against different frameworks. A node picks your first framework by default.
  • Use summary — send condensed summaries of the attached documents instead of their full text. Useful when a step needs the gist of a lot of material rather than the detail of a little.
Keep Knowledge tidy

Attach only what each step actually needs. Less, more-relevant Knowledge generally produces sharper results than a large pile of loosely related documents.
