Skill Validation

Also available in workflows

This specialist runs in chat and as a node you can add to a workflow for repeatable, scheduled runs. See the Agent Catalog for how the two relate.

Overview

Skill Validation turns your assessment and certification data into clear, structured records of who has been validated, where coverage stands, and whether you're ready for an audit. It brings order to the evidence behind your skills — the proof that people can do what their roles require.

It's built for learning and development (L&D), compliance, and capability leads who need to show that skills have been properly checked and documented. Reach for it when you're preparing for an audit, tracking certification renewals, or reporting validation results to leadership or a regulator.

It works only from the data you supply. It never invents assessment scores, certificate names, issuing bodies, or audit entries. When your input is partial, it asks one focused question rather than filling gaps with guesses.

What you'll need

Bring the records you want documented:

  • Assessment data — who was assessed, on which skills, when, the result, and the score where you have it.
  • Certification records — certifications held, the issuing body, and issue and expiry dates.
  • Standards and requirements — the industry or regulatory standards you're measured against, and which certifications each role requires.

Attach spreadsheets or documents as context so the reports reflect your real records. See Add context for how to attach data.

How to ask

Point Ellie at your data and say which view you need.

Document a round of assessments:

Here is our Q2 skill assessment export. Produce validation results with pass
rates by skill and flag which skills need more development.

Review certification coverage and renewals:

From this certification register, show active certifications, our coverage
against role requirements, and anything expiring in the next six months.

Prepare for an audit:

We have a compliance audit next month. Summarize our standards adherence,
build an audit trail from this activity log, and recommend where to close
gaps.

What you get

Depending on your request, you receive one or more of these reports, ready to read and export:

  • Validation Results — an executive summary, a table of validation outcomes per person and skill, pass rates by skill, the list of skills successfully validated, and the areas needing more development.
  • Certification Records — active certifications, organizational coverage against what's required, certifications expiring within six months, and mandatory certifications by role.
  • Compliance — a compliance overview, standards adherence with gaps and required actions, an audit trail, quality metrics, and recommendations to strengthen readiness.

Tips

  • Ask for the report you need. Name validation results, certification records, or compliance so Ellie focuses the output.
  • Include dates and issuing bodies so expiry tracking and the audit trail are accurate.
  • State your standards — naming the specific regulation or framework sharpens the adherence analysis.
  • Keep the source data complete. Missing scores or dates show up as gaps rather than being guessed.
  • Run it as a workflow node on a schedule to keep certification coverage and expiry views current.
